Zosia had to search archives for a long time until she found a representation of her family heraldic. After all in the books showing heraldics only the heraldics of human noble families are represented. But at last by lucky chance we found a representation and want to show it to you here.
Just some explanations of the pictures used:
- the crown above the heraldic shows clearly that it belongs to a noble family closely related to the royal dynasty. We assume that this part of the heraldic originates from the time of Edgar Dent de Lion
- The two dandelion leaves are certainly the most ancient part of the heraldic. They refer to the name of the ancestor of the family, Edgar Dent de Lion (Dandelion)
- Because of Henry the Catholic the family received the surname "The Tans". Of course this surname had to be represented in the heraldic also and so under the leaves you can see the red flame
- The rabbits on both sides of the heraldic take the place of the animals the human designers placed there. But contrary to the human heraldics where the lions or eagles represent symbolically the qualities asigned to the noble family to which the heraldic belongs the rabbits here are a picture of reality.
